The King Himself

Continuing from my last post, here is yet another effort to share my thoughts about some of the greatest musicians of all time.

And this time it is my fav. singer...

THE KING HIMSELF ELVIS PRESLEY

Born on January 8,1935 Elvis is arguably the best singer and musician world has ever seen.

Elvis Aaron Presley was a singer, musician and an actor. A culutural icon was often as

"The king of Rock n Roll" or simply "The king."

Elvis began his career as one of the first performers of rockabilly, an uptempo fusion of country and rhythm and blues with a strong back beat. Throughout his career, he set records for concert attendance, television ratings and recordings sales. He is one of the best-selling and most influential artists in the history of popular music
Elvis had a huge fan following throughout the world and people especially girls would go mad during his live concerts.

Elvis had a distuinguished dancing style and his wobbling legs used to make women crazy.

In most of his live performances, one could see Elvis wearing long white king like veil along with matching pants and why wouldn't he wear that after all he was the king.

Elvis produced a large no. of hits like HeartBreak Hotel which sold one milion copies in U.S in just 3months. His other hits include "Little less conversation, Hound Dog, Jail House Rock, Can't help falling in love and Viva Las Vegas(both were musical films which grossed $280million)

Now below are a collection of some of the Kings's greatest songs. Now being an Elvis fan all i can say is....

You'll be mesmerized...........

Let's Rock with Hound Dog....

Heartbreak Hotel

Rocking the Jail...

Vegas Rulezzz..........

Come Fall In Love...

Thats all for now but come back soon as much more is in the pipeline.

When u were gone

you dont want some moments to last long and for me , this was probably one of those.
it seems funny to me sometimes that i have poem for my every expression.
but somebody understands me perfectly and for that person is this poem written...
so go ahead and feast your eyes.

When u were gone

I knew it wasn’t for long ,
But the thought haunted me that
U were gone…

I missed the touch , the words, the messages ,
every moment Watching u in pain , I felt helpless,
good that U were gone…

First thing in the morning I looked out for u ,
Just to check on your health Only to realize that you’re in safe hands
Something I couldn’t heal…

Everything that happened ,
my joys and sorrows
When I was idle , when I was bad
When I lied , when I was mad
My feelings, wanted to share with u every day ,
I picked up the phone,
then realized that U were gone…

I missed you’re varied moods,
you’re ups and downs
Your worries, your sorries
you dropping of phone, your dozing off
Faintly smiling in middle of the crowd
when U were gone…

Most of all I missed the love ,
the urge to hold u tight
To not let u go anywhere,
to keep coming back to you,
To tell you that ‘I love you’ all this and much more I felt this
when U were gone…

I did count the days back,
waited for the phone to ring
Knowing that u cud not speak ,
probably just to hear the assuring silence
closed my eyes, to find u near
when u were gone..

there was always a sudden restlessness ,
spark In my eyes ,
that u would return healthy
that everything will be ok
that I can hear u scream in excitement and
cuddle with love calling me what u like
I felt this when U were gone…

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

" Action speaks louderthan words " i beleive in this and if you also do u might want to rate this blog !!!!

Time To Rock...

There have been number of musical minded men who have been making good music for men like me. There are 'N' of genres of music and ROCK MUSIC is one of'em.

Rock music is a form of popular music with a prominent vocal melody, accompanied by guitar, drums, and bass. Rock music has its roots in 1940s and 1950s rock and roll and rockabilly, which evolved from blues, country music and other influences.

Rock music had evolved and changed a lot over decades. There has been numerous ages of Rock Music. Let's have a little peak into the Rock history...

The mid-1950s-early 1960s

Early British rock-- Popularised by "John Lennon(Beatles), Rolling Stones"
Garage rock-- Bands like The Sonics, Question Mark & the Mysterians
Surf music-- The rockabilly sound influenced a wild, mostly instrumental sound.
Bands like The Shadows and The Beach Boys.

Folk rock-- made up of folk music lovers who liked acoustic instruments, traditional
songs, and blues music with a socially progressive message.
Popularized by BOB DYLAN, JONI MITCHELL, JOAN BAEZ.

Psychedelic rock--Psychedelia began in the folk scene, with the Holy Modal Rounders
introducing the term in 1964.
The creators-- Pink Floyd(The piper at the gates of down), The cream(eric clapton),
The Doors and Jefferson Airplane's surrealistic Pillow became really popular.
And my favourite Jimi Hendrix announced his arrival to the mainstream.

Soft rock-- Barry Manilow, Neil Diamond, Olivia Newton-John, Elton John, Billy Joel.

The mid to late 70s

Hard rock and heavy metal
A second wave of British and American rock bands became popular during the early 1970s the largest being Led Zeppelin. Bands such as Grand Funk Railroad, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Queen, Alice Cooper, Judas Priest, Status Quo, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, The Who, and Uriah Hee played highly amplified, guitar-driven hard rock.

Punk rock
Early punk borrowed heavily from the garage band ethic: played by bands for which expert musicianship was not a requirement, punk was stripped-down, three-chord music that could be played easily.
Artists-- Tommy Ramone(Ramones), British Band Sex Pistols(songs-Anarchy in the U.K, God Save the Queen).

Rock diversifies in the 1980s

In the 1980s, popular rock diversified. This period also saw the New Wave of British Heavy Metal with bands such as Iron Maiden and Def Leppard gaining popularity.

One of my personal favourite AC/DC a hard rock band formed in Sydney, Australia in 1973 by brothers Angus and Malcolm Young. Although the band are considered pioneers of hard rock and heavy metal its members have always classified their music as "rock 'n' roll".

American heartland rock gained a strong following, exemplified by Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger, Donnie Iris, John (Cougar) Mellencamp and others.

Thrash Metal attracted large underground audiences and a few bands, including Metallica and Megadeth, went on for mainstream success.

Glam metal
Widely popular in the 1980s Mötley Crüe, W.A.S.P., Ratt and Quiet Riot were the notable names in glam metal. Their songs were bombastic and often defiantly macho, with lyrics focused on sex, drinking, drugs, and the occult.
In 1987 a second wave of glam metal acts emerged including Bon Jovi, L.A. Guns and Faster Pussycat.

Alternative goes mainstream (Early-mid 1990s)

Grunge
By the 1990s, rock was dominated by slick and commercial glam metal, hair metal and arena rock artists. MTV had arrived and promoted this excessive focus on image and style.

Bands such as Green River, Soundgarden, the Melvins and Skin Yard pioneered the genre, with Mudhoney becoming the most successful by the end of the decade.

In 1991 Nirvana broke into the mainstream with album NEVERMIND. Pearljam came out with their album TEN. In early April 1994, grunge took a sudden shift in popularity with the death of Nirvana's frontman Kurt Cobain.

Post-grunge
In the wake of Cobain's death a new style of music called post-grunge evolved.
Former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl's new band the Foo Fighters helped further popularize the genre, and other bands such as Bush, Seether, Creed, Collective Soul, Everclear and Live helped cement post-grunge as one of the most commercially viable sub-genres of the late nineties.

Nu metal and Rap Rock

Bands-- Faith No More, Linkin Park, P.O.D

With all this info. at your hand about Rock Music you might be feeling like listening to some good Rock and if your like me you'd do something about it.

But being a new and true rock lover i have made some arrangements for you.
So sit back and relax and enjoy some good Rock Music.

Love is an adult Emotion!!!

Well the topic would definitely arouse some feelings , in which ever way u want to take it. (ur call)
and i think i can justify the topic in many ways.

We all fall in love knowingly , forcefully , accidently, genetically and gradually. un-requittted or reciprocated ,its an emotion no other can beat.!!!

For me love always smells 1 word ' commitment '.

I don’t know how it got into me, or did i developed it, but its there , and i know it very well.

yes its difficult to find a person to love , and more , to realize who loves you, but after this stage is cleared,, its an out of world feeling..
something’s start making sense , rest becomes oblivious.

I don't pretend to know what love is for everyone, but I can tell you what it is for me; love is knowing all about someone, and still wanting to be with them more than any other person,

as she always sez" in love too much is never enough "

love is trusting them enough to tell them everything about yourself, your deep dark secrets , including the things you might be ashamed of, love is feeling comfortable and safe with someone , but still getting weak knees .

One look of that person and you know their state of mind. What is wonderful in this relationship is the there is someone who knows you better than anyone else in the world. And the feeling of being right next to the person you love makes you forget your pain, your sleep, your fatigue.!!!(ask me)

When I say, "I love you, it's not because I want you or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength. I've seen the best and the worst of you. And I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are.

Once you realize all this you would scream at top of your voice >>

you’re a hell of a woman.

And then comes the big word:: decision . Decision at every step, of our lives , of our choices. Every decision that you make somehow affects her. Love becomes so strong that your amazed how trivial steps of your life determine your destiny. There is a fear, a constant fear of losing someone so close that you cannot imagine 1 day without hearing her voice. Never taken life so seriously, here you vouch for your words, for dress you wear, for your habits...

and this is not from me but felt like sharing it with the world
"Here is the deepest secret nobody knows. Here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud And the sky of the sky of a tree called life; Which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide. And this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart. I carry your heart. I carry it in my heart."

Living A Smoke Free Life

I started smokin when i was in college. I remember going to a paanwaala half a km from our room to get my first cigarette. I smoked a "menthol".
My friend accompanied me to my first ever FAG rendezvous.

Over the period of time i hav smoked a lot. I have tried the worst and the best of it, but my all time favourite was MARLBORO. They say its a man's brand and frankly i cannot disagree with that.

Over the course of time i have come to understand that people smoke coz of following reasons
--> Addiction
--> Style Statement
--> Got nothing else to do

For me it was the third reason. Everytime i puffed away a Marlboro was when i had plenty of time to kill and nothing to do.

But something that i stayed away from, was getting addicted.

Recently The friend quit smoking b'coz of a reason i never thought he'd give into.
Anyways... he tried to persuade me also to give up but i knew i'd quit only when i feel like givin up.
And one night i just didn;t felt like smoking. People told me that me that if I can keep away from it for 2 weeks it'll be big deal and it will be an achievement. But i didn't pay much heed to my well wishers coz i knew i have a strong will power.

And its been over a month now.

I don;t feel proud or sad. And its not like that my lungs crave for nicotine(like one of my friend's)
but there is one thing i cannot deny,

I Miss Marlboro

But i don't regret leavin it..... (atleast for the time being)
